LoveMyLife4Liz

This blog is to honor the memory of my beautiful baby sister, Liz. Love My Life (LML) was her motto in spite of fighting Hodgkin's Lymphoma for 10 years. She didn't love having cancer, but having cancer made her appreciate every aspect of life. Life is a gift...embrace it!

Lollipop Love

Lollipop Love
Sisters.Connected.Forever
Liz painted Lollipop Love for me for Christmas 2009. They represent our sisterly bond (Big Sis/Lil' Sis) and on the back she wrote, "sisters. connected. forever. I love you." I didn't find that dedication until two months after she passed...

About Me

My photo
Shellee
On August 10,2002 my baby sister, Liz, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Her journey, and my part in it, changed who I am as a person. I tried to embrace that change for the depth it added to my life. In 2010, I had my own encounter with cancer; stage I breast cancer, my diagnosis and journey redefined my life even further. Thankfully, because of my sister's experiences, I was diagnosed early and am cancer free today after a lumpectomy and radiation. My sister saved my life (thanks Punkin.xo). On October 16, 2011, Liz lost her battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. My journey through the unimaginable grief of losing my sister, the child I never had, my best friend and confidant, has changed my life forever and redefined who I am and what my purpose here on earth is all about. This, I believe, is going to be an on-going journey. Liz fought Hodgkin's Lymphoma for nearly ten years, with dignity and grace, courage and laughter, love and heart. Through it all, “Love My Life” was her motto. Always ready with a smile, she spread light and love wherever she went, to whomever she met, and left behind a legacy of love to many who will miss her forever...
